This isn’t just about flooring. It’s about building a stronger Rochester—one home, one family, one foundation at a time.
What Is the Leaders Build?
The Leaders Build Program brings together local business and community leaders to support affordable housing in Rochester. But this isn’t just a fundraiser. It’s a hands-on initiative.
Leaders trade in suits for hard hats. They join volunteers, future homeowners, and Habitat for Humanity staff to physically build new homes in neighborhoods that need them most.
The goal? To raise awareness, funding, and momentum for Greater Rochester Habitat for Humanity (GRHFH)—while also rolling up sleeves and putting in real work.
Ted Messner Gets Involved
Ted Messner, President of Messner Flooring, proudly serves on the Leaders Build Committee. Last week, he was on the jobsite—working side by side with other Rochester-area leaders and community members.
He helped lay foundations for a new home, knowing that every nail, every board, and every task contributes to something much bigger than a building.
“It’s humbling to be part of something so rooted in purpose,” Ted shared. “We’re not just building walls—we’re building futures.”
Why This Work Matters
In Rochester, the need for affordable housing is real. The Habitat for Humanity mission helps meet that need by empowering families through homeownership.
