Messner Flooring Proud to Support Thanksgiving Meal Drive with the Small Business Council of Rochester
At Messner Flooring, community has always been at the heart of everything we do. Long before we install hardwood floors, refinish staircases, or help families choose the perfect carpet, we believe in showing up for the people and neighborhoods that make Rochester home.
That’s why, just before Thanksgiving, Ted Messner spent time volunteering with the Small Business Council of Rochester (SBCR) to support their annual Thanksgiving meal drive. This initiative focused on making sure families across our community had food on the table during the holiday season.
What started as an ambitious goal quickly turned into something truly extraordinary.
A Community Effort That Exceeded Every Expectation
Thanks to an incredible outpouring of support from local businesses, organizations, and volunteers, the Thanksgiving meal drive delivered results far beyond what anyone imagined:
3,100 Thanksgiving meal boxes delivered: more than double the original goal!
155 volunteers showed up to pack, organize, and distribute meals
52 community organizations stepped in to help deliver boxes
Over 3,000 families across Rochester received a Thanksgiving meal
Seeing so many people come together and donating time, resources, and energy, was a powerful reminder of what makes Rochester such a special place to live and work.
Why Giving Back Matters to Messner Flooring
Messner Flooring has been a family-owned business for generations, and our roots in this community run deep. Our customers aren’t just clients, they’re our neighbors, friends, and fellow small business owners. Supporting initiatives like this Thanksgiving meal drive isn’t something we see as “extra.” It’s part of who we are.
Whether it’s participating in local fundraisers, supporting nonprofit organizations, or showing up for community events, we believe strong businesses help build strong communities. When families thrive, neighborhoods thrive — and that benefits everyone.
Ted’s involvement with the Small Business Council of Rochester reflects a long-standing commitment to local collaboration and service. SBCR continues to play a vital role in connecting businesses and creating opportunities to give back in meaningful, hands-on ways.
Gratitude for a Community That Always Steps Up
We are incredibly grateful to the Small Business Council of Rochester, the volunteers, the distribution partners, and every organization that helped make this drive such a success. It takes coordination, compassion, and commitment to deliver support on this scale. And Rochester delivered!
Moments like this remind us that generosity is one of our community’s greatest strengths. When it matters most, people here step up without hesitation.
Looking Ahead
As we head into the holiday season and beyond, Messner Flooring remains committed to supporting the community that has supported us for so many years. We’re proud to work, live, and give back in Rochester. Our team looks forward to continuing that tradition in the years to come.
From all of us at Messner Flooring: thank you to everyone who helped make this Thanksgiving brighter for thousands of local families. 💙
